The Tamil People’s Council has expressed concern that subjecting the devotees coming to the Historical Nallur Kandaswamy Temple to severe checking had caused much heart burns.
The Council has expressed its concern in a media release issued by it.
It is usual that the devotees come in their hundred thousand for the festival of Nallur temple.
Massing security forces at all entrance to the temple, indicating the Easter Sunday bomb blasts as the reason and subjecting devotees to severe body checks cannot be justified by any means.
Subjecting the devotees who come to the temple seeking peace of mind, motivation and calm worship to severe body checks is hurting the minds of the devotees.
Pure physical cleanliness is marred by the checking, and hence the relevant people must think of relaxing the checking, it has said.
