117 Kilos Ganja, brought in to be distributed in Jaffna Peninsula captured by Police and Navy

Point Pedro Navy and Police joined in a raid yesterday to capture 117 Kilos of Kerala Ganja, which was brought in through Vadamaradchchi, Point Pedro seas secretly to be distributed in the Jaffna Peninsula.

A tip had been received by the Navy as well as the Police that a large amount of Kerala Ganja being smuggled in through Point Pedro seas, to be distributed in the Jaffna Peninsula.

The security forces rounded up the spot where the Ganja was down loaded, before it being loaded into the vehicle. The smugglers had mad good their escape when the security forces rounded up the area. The Navy who had sped to the spot had captured the ganja and handed them over to the Police.

The Point Pedro said that 117 kilos of Ganja had been captured and no suspects had been arrested. Further inquiries are proceeding, they further said.
