Explosives recovered from Suthanthirapuram in Mulaitheevu

A lot of explosives had been found buried in Suthanthirapuram in Mulaitheevu, Putukkudiyiruppu Police area yesterday.

These explosives presumed to be buried during the past war period were found when a private person was in the process of ploughing his land.

Following the land owner informing the Puthukudiyiruppu Police, they came to the site and recovered 8 Claymore mines and 60 detonators.

Action to remove them had been undertaken as per court order the police said.
