13th Amendment cannot be a permanent solution, says the Leader of the Opposition, Era Sampanthan

The 13th Amendment cannot be a permanent solution to the problems of the Tamil people. Understanding this former President Late R.Premadasa appointed parliamentary Select group under Mangala Munasinghe. Unfortunately, we have lost a Political Leadership which had pursued  constructive activities  relevant to the solution to the National problem.

His vision was for all people of Sri Lanka should live with equal rights, power and under the same justice within an undivided country. As the 13th could not be a permanent solution, the problems of the Tamil people were moved through Select Committee towards the solution. Good recommendations were submitted by the Mangala Munasinghe Commission. Unfortunately, we have lost a Political Leadership which had pursued  constructive activities  relevant to the solution to the National problem.
