Mixed mechanism is a mere eyewash. International  Investigation needed , says Relatives of Missing

An Attention Drawing Rally and demonstration was undertaken by the relatives of missing persons at Baticaloa yesterday, demanding UNHRC ,an International Investigation against Sri Lanka.This struggle was undertaken yesterday, Monday, under the aegis of Northern and Eastern Association of relatives of missing persons.

The Rally commenced near Kallady bridge and proceeded towards Gandhi Park and a demonstration was held there.

All political prisoners should be unconditionally released; We are rejecting any internal investigation; we reject the Office for the Missing; Impartial International Investigation is needed to find out the missing;  The International Investigation should be undertaken through International Criminal Court and Mixed Mechanism is a mere eye wash, said the demonstrators.

A memorandum to be sent to UN was read out at the demonstration.

It is notable that large number people from all three Districts of the Eastern Province participated in the Demonstration.
