If International pressure is not exerted on Sri Lanka, Tamils will be eliminated, says Charles, former TNA MP

Former Vanni District TNA MP, Charles Nirmalanathan had warned that if the pressures of International Countries or World Super Powers  are exerted on Sri Lanka, Tamil people will be eliminated from Sri Lanka.

He said so in expressing his opinion to media regarding the statement of the President Gotabhaya Rajapakse delivered during the event for Honouring Security Forces men, held on last 19th .

The president in his statement manifestly said that if the International Countries or International Organizations exert pressure on Sri Lanka regarding the war crimes, we will leave the said Organizations.

Thus the responsible President of this country had expressed opinion in a way that is shocking to the Tamil people. Tamil people expect that any solutions, may be to the 2009 war crimes or the constitutional changes that is essential for the Tamil people to live with self respect in this country in the future be reached under the pressures of the International countries.

Navaneethampillai, Yasmin Suka, Canadian Prime Minister and some important ministers in India are reminding Sri Lanka of the genocide committed against the Tamil people. President’s opinion is contravening all their expressions.

A situation exists in Sri Lanka where, if the pressures of the International Countries are not forthcoming, the Tamil Nation will be eliminated from Sri Lanka. If we opt to live with this government or if the International Countries will abandon us, all traces of Tamil Nation being in existence here will be wiped out.

What the Tamil people request is that the International countries should exert their pressures on Sri Lanka so as deliver justice to the 2009 war crimes and a permanent solution to the problems of the Tamils, he said.
