A skeleton and explosives recovered at Muhamalai in the 2nd stage of excavation

In the context of a skeleton and UXOs recovered from the site of recovery of human remains and rifles etc at Muhamalai, further excavations are postponed to 9th.

on the 21st of last month skeletons and rifles etc. were identified at Muhamalai by de-mining staff  and in the 1st stage of excavations under court order,  skeletons, LTTE Uniform, identification tags arms and ammunition were recovered and the excavation were postponed to 2nd.

When the excavation were resumed before the Kilinochch Magistrate T.Saravanaraja, a skeleton, rifle rounds, an olive green uniform, magazines and the number tag and cyanide capsules worn by LTTE porali were recovered and the excavations were postponed to 9th.

Further, it is suggested that the recovered skeleton may be of a female porali and some undergarments were also recovered at the excavations. A shell found at the site was found active the magistrate ordered that to be destroyed.
