Decision after final report – water supply will continue, Chief Minister

A report had been requested from the Expert Committee as to what sort of action should be taken regarding the Northern Province drinking water problem and that the water supply will be continued till a final report is received on the Chunnakam water contamination problem, said the CM, Justice C.V.Vigneswaran, to the media, after a discussion, held in the District Secretariat regarding the Chunnakam Water supply problem.

Elaborating further he said that, the Expert Committee members, people belonging to various sectors, and people who took up protest demonstrations participated in this discussion. A general consensus was reached that this problem had been handled through misunderstandings. It was agreed to add more experts to the Experts’ committee. The Experts had been asked their observations regarding the Drinking water problem of the North in general.
