Dearth of nurses in Jaffna hospital

There is a dearth of nurses at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital at present causing great inconvenience to patients, reports say. The present nursing staff is unable to cope with the demand for meeting the needs of patients.

Principal of the Jaffna Nursing Institute Dulathevy Vallipuranathan has sated that the number required is 1000, but at the moment there are only 400 nurses attached to the hospital.
