Ministry approves Vihare Navatkuli Sihalese encroachment

The Buddhist Vihare  which was constructed without any formal approval of the local authorities was recently approved and  registered by Buddha Sasana Ministry. A group of Sinhalese people came and occupied part of Navatkuli with the connivance of security forces.

They put up houses and this Vihare. Although 79 families were registered here, only around 05 families are permanently staying here. Local Government authorities had informed the Thero of the Vihare who approached them for registration that, they have no authority to register such construction.

It is learned now this Vihare had been approved and registered under Ministry of Buddha Sasana.
