260 Kilos Ganja Captured in Poonakary area, broker arrested

260 Kilos of Ganja alleged to have been smuggled by boat from India was captured by the Poonakary police while being transferred to a car at Sangupiddy in Poonakary area.

While the persons who came in the boat and in the car had escaped arrest, a broker was arrested by the Police. The said car and 248 kilos Ganja captured at the spot and following inquiries on the suspectat, another 12 kilos were captured from a house in Manipay area.

In the context of no main suspects being arrested, further inquiries are progressing. Meanwhile, the police said that the captured Kerala Ganja and the arrested suspect will be produced before the Kilinochchi courts tomorrow,said the police.
