The three Tamil political Prisoners whose case is to be transferred to Anuradhapura courts have announced that they will commence fasting protest against the case being transferred to Anuradhapura. Their case is to be taken up for hearing in the Anuradhapura courts today. This case was heard in the Vavuniya courts for last 4 years. In a context where the Vavuniya judge ordered continuous hearing and had issued summons for 70 witnesses, the AG department has sent letter to transfer the case Anuradhapura courts.
The Prisoners have said that there is a language problem in the Anuradhapura and it is due to the language problem they had got caught to case.
Previously also when the AG department tried to transfer the case from Vavuniya, TPPs commenced a Fasting protest and subsequently the Judge announced the case will be heard in Vavuniya courts. the TPPs then gave up their fasting.
