3,000 acre land under the control of Tri-Forces and Police in Jaffna District, says Secretariat Statistics

The Jaffna District Statistics have revealed that nearly 3,000 acres of private lands are under the control of the Tri forces and Police in the Jaffna District.

Additional District Secretary (Land), S.Muraleetharan  said yesterday that around 3027.85 acre lands are still under the control of the Tri Forces and Police.

The extent of lands acquired by the security forces was 23,850.72 acre in 2009. 16,776.50 acres were released in 2014 and the extent dropped to 7,075.22 acre in 2015.It dropped to 4,047.37 in 2019 and now it is at 3,027.85

Among this, the Army holds 2054.25, Navy holds 274.57, Air Force holds 646.50 and the Police hold 52.53 acres respectively.
