400 families to be resettled in KKS

A proposal to resettle 400 families, from the over 14,000 war affected families, who still live in IDP camps, in a 65 hectare plot of land that belongs to Kankesanthurai Cement factory has been approved by the Cabinet.

This was revealed by Cabinet spokesperson Minister Rajitha Senaratne. He further stated that by the end of March 2016, 25,100 IDP families had been resettled in the North and East. However, there are still 14, 000 war affected families that need to be resettled. 1,109 such families live in Thelippalei DS division, Jaffna and 641 out of them do not possess land.
