Former Tiger Militants to be inducted into party politics: ITAK decides

The Ilankai Thamil Arasuk Kadchchi has decided to induct the rehabilitated Liberation Tigers militants into their party politics.

The Executive Committee meeting of ilankai Thamil Arasuk Kadchchi, which is a constituent party of TNA,  was  held at Baticaloa town day before yesterday night. The rehabilitation, livelihood and political lives of former LTTE Militants were discussed in this meeting and a decision relevant them was also taken.

Sumanthiran elaborated on the following decisions:

* The Tamil people are seemed to be moving out of the range of the functions of the sub-committee on People displaced for long terms, formed at Ministerial level. This should be brought to the notice of the Prime Minister.

* Negotiations to be carried out further, on lands of people and public lands occupied by Security forces.

Meanwhile, when the militants wished to engage in politics during the last parliamentary elections, they were not given any chance.

Now the ITAK has taken this decision in a context of the Militants having  formed themselves into political party, Democratic Militants Party and making arrangements to register their party.
