7 families stopped from resettling into their own Lands by Forest Department Official even after permitted by Divisional Secretariat

People of the Kansuramodai area in Nedunkerny expressed concern that they are experiencing several difficulties in resettling into their own lands. Permission has been refused for 37 families they said.

These families which have returned to their land have been banned by Forest Department Official from resettling in their lands, although the Divisional Secretariat, they pointed out.

Commenting on this the Forest Department officials said that encroachments could not be allowed in Kansuramoddai village. It is illegal to settle in Kansuramodai without due permits.

The said families had displaced to Tamil Nadu and other parts of the countries, had lost everything  and have returned to re-settle in the village, the people said.
