North in Ninth place, in education: Radha Krishnan express concern

It’s a cause for concern that the North is continuing  in the in the ninth place in Education, the State Minister for Education, V.Radhakrishnan said.

Three buildings were declared open at M/Thevaraiyali Hindu college,  day before yesterday.

Participating in this event as the Chief Guest, he further said, the Northern Province was in the first place when no facilities were available. Now, it had gone to the ninth place. The reasons for this should be found out.

You were affected by the 30 years old war. During this 30 years period physical resources were not available in the Jaffna District. Other districts had grown, unlike Jaffna district. You will have to grow fast catch their level.

He also pointed out that the development in other districts was not affected just because the 30 years war in the North. Principals and the Teachers can play a leading role in achieving this, he said.
