The new District Secretary of Mannar, Christopher Anton Mohanraj took over his duties at the Mannar District Secretariat yesterday. He was welcomed by the Additional District Secretary and the staff of the Secretariat. All religious prelates blessed the new District Secretary.
He had served first as the Divisional Secretary of Karathuraipattu and followed it up as NE Provincial Commissioner of Motor Traffic Department, Commissioner General of Motor traffic department, the Divisional Secretary of Kopay Division, the Additional District Secretary of Mulaitheevu District and the Secretary of the Public Service Commission.
He said in his address that duties should be executed to raise the Livelihood levels of Village people.
I.M. Hanifa took over as the District Secretary of Vavuniya yesterday.Former District Secretary, Somaratne Vitharana Patirana, Additional District Secretary Thireskumar, Divisional Secretaries and Officials welcomed I.M.Hanifa who arrived at the Secretariat to take over his duties.
National Flag was hoisted and National Anthem sung in Tamil and Sinhala at the outset. All religious prelates blessed the new District Secretary.
In his address he said that he had served for 27 seven years, a record period in the history of Sri Lanka, as Deputy Divisional Secretary and Divisional Secretary. Most of the time, I have served successfully in Tri-ethnic areas and I am taking over my duties with a confidence the I will be able to go along embracing all ethnic groups.
