In a context where 8 acre belonging to 23 families were released recently only 8 families were granted permissions day before yesterday.
One of the person owning land in the released lot had said that although he is having all the evidences of his ownership, he had been excluded and in protest he had gone to his house in the released area and spent the night there in protest.
The lands which were under the Army for the last 7 years were released recently. these belong to 23 families but only 8 were granted permission to resettle. One of the other 15 owners Nagarajan Kumuthiny said that there is an 80 ft. long hall built by the LTTE still in good condition. The authorities are trying to rob that hall from me. Even the army had released the lands, the people here don’t have the mind to release them.
Meanwhile,the owners of the other 10 acre still to be released by the Army, continued their vigil for the 4th day yesterday .
We will not give up our struggle until our lands are released , they said.
