Two representatives of the British High Commission had paid a direct visit to the Mass grave site at Sathosa premises in Mannar yesterday, Tuesday at around 10.30 a.m.
Excavations at the site were continued for the 115th day, led by special JMO, Chamintha Rajapakse. To date, 266 skeletons had been identified and removed for storage.
In this context, two representatives from the British High Commission had made a direct visit to the excavation site, inspected the site and found out about the results of the excavations from the Officer in charge of excavations, Special JMO, Chamintha Rajapakse.
It is notable that when British representative went to the site for their inspection, number of intelligence operatives surrounded the area and took photographs and video recordings.
Meanwhile, the special JMO, Chamintha Rajapakse speaking to the media yesterday on site had said that 23 of the identified skeletons were of children.
