One TPP go into fasting protest demanding the expediting of their cases

A Tamil Political Prisoner (TPP) who had been detained in the Anuradhapura Prison had gone into fasting protest from yesterday evening demanding that their cases be expedited.

Sivapragasam Sivaseelan of Vaddakkachchi, Kilinochchi has gone into fasting protest from yesterday evening. He has sent his demand letter to the Commissioner of Prisons, through the Officer in Charge of the Prison.

The Courts are backsliding in our cases. Judges are not attending the cases. I consented for a light sentence. However my case is being back dragged for a long time. We request that our cases be expedited, he had said in his letter.

Sivapragasam Sivaseelan’s father expired recently and Sivaseelan was allowed only a few hours to attend his father’s Funeral.

Meanwhile, the TPPs in Anuradhapura Prison have accused the Tamil MPs without party discrimination, that they are not paying attention on their problem.
