99,000 persons affected by drought in the North

Due to the prolonging drought in the North, 99,191 persons belonging to 28,950  families have been affected.

The Disaster Management Centre has announced that more people had been affected in Mannar District.

53,569 persons have been affected in Mannar District, 33,501 persons in Jaffna District, 6,296 persons in Mulaitheevu District, 5,720 persons in Kilinochchi District, it has said.
