33rd Annual Commemoration of Kokkaddicholai Massacre
The 33rd Commemoration of Tamil people massacred at Kokkadichcholai was held yesterday near the memorial for them presided by former MP P.Ariyanenthiran.
IN 1987, hundreds of residents from Munaikkadu, Muthalaikkudah, Mahiladiththeevu, Pandariyaveli, Padayandaveli Kadukkamunai, Kokkaddichcholai, Arasaditheevu, Ampilanthurai Katchenai, Paddipallai, and Thanthamalai, who were working in the Muthalaikudah Prawn farm were massacred by Sri Lankan Army.
Several people including TNA MP, S.Yogeswaran, General Secretary of the ITAK, K.Thurairajasingam, former Deputy Chairman of Eastern provincial Council, Prasanna Indrakumar,former member of EPC, Kovinthan karunakaram, Mayor of Baticaloa MC, T.Saravanabavan, Chairmen of Pradeshiya Sabhas, members party stalwarts . Sacrificial flame was lighted in front of the memorial, floral and silent tributes were paid.
