Army soldier sentenced to 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment for killing a Tamil person in Muthur
Justice Manickavasagar Ilancheliyan has sentenced an Army soldier for killing a Tamil person in Muthur.
A former Army soldier was accused of killing a Tamil person in Bharathypuram , Muthur on 30th September 2006.
As the charge against him was proved in the inquiries of the court he hadsbeen sentenced to 10 years of Rigorous Imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 10,000/=. Further the court ordered that Rs.100,000/= be paid as compensation to the relatives of the victim, failing which, the soldier was ordered further one year in prison.
