Attention drawing Rally in Mannar calling for release of TPPs on day after tomorrow

In view of the Women’s Day, the families of the Tamil Political Prisoners , Human Rights Activists and women in the North will hold an attention drawing Rally in Mannar, day after tomorrow.

While this rally is to be held under the aegis of the families of the TPPs and the Struggle Coordination Committee, they have issued a press release saying that this rally will held from 9.00 a.m. to !2.00 p.m. and it will commence at Mannar Town Council and end with a get together in front  the Mannar District Secretariat.

Particularly , in the post 2009 periods, women are being affected politically economically and socially.

Due to the long term detention of TPPs, their wives who lead their families also are in dire straits. In this context we are in a time where we had to raise our voices on behalf of these long suffering women.

Hence we call upon those who raise their voices for the release of TPPs, those who raise their voice for the rights of the women, Human Rights activists and the members of the affected families to get together to hold a rally demanding the release of the TPPs, they have said.
