37 Curfew violators arrested by Police, vehicles also captured

Jaffna Police went into action yesterday and arrested 37 curfew breakers who were on the road without justifiable reasons, in front of Jaffna Hospital.

Following the Government allowing Banks and pharmacies to open yesterday large number of people gathered in the town to fulfill their needs. However, the Police went into operation in front of Jaffna Hospital and arrested 37 persons found without proper reasons and captured the vehicles used by them and took them to the police station. Those who produced prescriptions and essential service passes were  allowed to proceed.

The police said the captured vehicles will be released only after the crisis situation coming to an end.
