More than 1,200 brought to North from Colombo for Corona Quarantining
As the situation of Corona is being increased in Colombo , more than 1,200 persons from areas identified as Corona affected have been brought by the Army to quarantine centres in the North. People including persons from Colombo, Bandaranayake Mawatha, Marudana, beggars, and Sri Lankans returnees from abroad have been brought to the North. More persons are to be brought here it is learnt.
As Corona Virus is spreading in areas of Colombo those areas have been isolated and quarantined. Persons in contact with identified Corona patients are being taken to other districts for quarantining.
Thus, 99 persons have been brought to Palaly quarantine Centre, 360 to Kodikamam centre, 240 to Iyakkachchi Army Camp,170 to Iranaimadu Camp, 259 to Kepapulavu Navy Camp. 124 persons have been brought to other centres in Muliatheevu District.
More people are to be brought to Pampaimadu centre in Vavuniya.
In a context where Corona infection is spreading in Colombo area, people from Danger Zones are being brought to Northern Province.
As no infection was identified in Northern Districts except Jaffna, the bringing of persons from Danger Zones to North has caused fear among the people of the North.
