Until Corona threat prevails have no dealing with traders of Isolated areas, Jaffna Chamber instructs members
The Vice President of the Jaffna Chamber of Commerce, E. Jeyasekaran asked the traders of Jaffna not have any commercial dealings with traders from areas isolated due Corona threat, until Corona is eradicated.
He said so in the media conference held at the Chamber of Commerce yesterday.
The incident of 8 person coming to Jaffna in a lorry had been thoroughly investigated and it was revealed that the lorry in question was a hired lorry. The owner of the lorry or traders who brought things in it are not connected directly to the incident. The driver had taken his own decision to bring the people. The persons who traveled in the lorry had been arrested and in custody now. Things had been brought also to areas other than Jaffna.
We have called traders and transport lorry owners and given some strict instructions. While the traders were asked not to have any dealing with isolated areas in Colombo , they were also asked to give maximum adherence to state instructions.
Now onward all lorries traveling to Jaffna and all lorries traveling from Jaffna will be checked at Elephant Pass Army check point, he said.
