He crossed the Baticaloa Lagoon everyday in thony from Nasivantheevu to score 9As

A student from Nasivantheevu in Valaichenai Divisional Secretary’s Division has performed a historical achievement in the last O/L  to bring glory to his village.

Thavarajah Sanooskanth of the  Valaichenai Hindu National College had scored 9As in the last O/L. Five other students from the same school had scored 9As.However Sanooskanth’s  is an extra ordinary success story.

Nasivantheevu is a backward area, surrounded by sea and Lagoon on all four sides. Sanooskanth’s father, who is a fisherman, had taken the trouble to take his son across the Lagoon every day in his thony, for the sake of his son’s education and greatly helped him to attend the school.

The Youth clubs and Baticaloa’s Vasam Helping Hands Organization had felicitated this student for his achievement.  With a view to the welfare of the student the Vasam Helping Hands Organization had presented a Bicycle, to Sanooskanth.
