22,000 UXOs laying buried at Muhamalai and Elephant Pass areas, says the Manager, SHARP 

Operations Manager of the SHARP Organization, Retd. Capt. Prabath Narampanava said yesterday that 22,260 dangerous UXOs had been removed from 1,101,950 Square meter area in Ambakamam, THachchadampan areas in Mulaitheevu /Odduchuddan Divisional Secretary’s area and at Muhamalai, Elephant Pass in Kilinochchi/ Pachchilaipalli Divisional Secretary’s area.

The above Humanitarian demining Non Government Organization operating with funds from Japan from 2016 November to 2020 June 08 had removed the above stated UXOs from the said areas.

It is notable that they are proceeding with demining at Muhamalai and Elephant Pass.
