Telecommunication equipment hidden in Pesalai recovered by STF

Police in conjunction with the STF had recovered day before yesterday evening, telecommunication equipment which laid hidden in the southern coastal area coming under Mannar Police division.

On a tip off received by the Actg. OIC of the Mannar Police Station regarding some suspicious objects found in Nadukkuda Southern coastal area under the Pesalai Police division, the Mannar magistrate was in formed of them.

On orders from the magistrate the Police, Army  and STF undertook ma search operation in the said area and recovered the equipment. On inspection of the package three communications equipment and their accessories were identified and handed over to the pesalai  police.

The Pesalai Police is undertaking further inquiries.
