09 persons who maintained contact with Indian Fishermen in Quarantine-70 in self quarantine

09 persons who had maintained contacts with Indian Fishermen have been sent to quarantine and 70 persons have been self quarantined.

09 fishermen who had engaged in catching beach de mer , from vadis constructed at the Vadamaradchchi East  Kudarappu coast have been sent to Quarantine centres and around 70 have been self quarantined, said the Health Department officials.

Fishermen from Mannar have constructed vadis on the Kudarappu beach and were engaging in catching Beach de mer. 09 of them had gone onboard on the Indian boats stayed with them and have had their food. On receipt of this information, Point Pedro Medical Officer of Health Office officials  and the police had undertaken inquiries and PCR examination on these fishermen, on Saturday.

The Health Department circles said that 09 of these fishermen have been sent to Quarantine Centres and 70 fishermen had been self-quarantined.
