Mangroves planted along Mannar coast
The event for planting mangroves plants along coastal line along Naruvilikulam in Nanattan of Mannar District, with a view to preserving the marine resources.
This event was held presided by the Officer in charge of Mannar District Marine Environment Protection Authority, A. Sasitharan.
The Chairperson of the Marine Environment Protection Authority, Mrs. Thasni Lakanthapura and the Officer in Charge of Marine Environment Protection Authority, for North and East, T.Siripathy participated in this event.
As a first stage 300 mangroves plants were planted along the coastal line of Naruvilikulam, on Mannar – Nanattan main road,
Several people including the Grama Officer, Police officer, officer from Forest Department, villagers participated in this event and planted the mangroves plants.
