Human activities contribute heavily to Natural Disasters, says Kilinochchi GA

Kilinochchi GA,Rupawathy Ketheeswaran said recently  that human activities contribute heavily to natural Disasters.

She said so participating in a awareness creating program participating in a National Security day event held at Kilinochchi.

A Disaster Management Unit has been set up and awareness creating programs and prevention programs are being undertaken at National level. However, it is our duty to prevent the occurrence of the disasters.

While disaster occur naturally disasters also occur due to human activities. Sand mining and deforestation pave the way for disasters.

It is our desire that our district should be disaster free in the coming years, she said.
