Indian External Affairs Minister accepts invitation to visit Sri Lanka
An invitation extended by Lankan Minister of External Affairs Mangala Samaraweera to Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has been accepted by her. She is to visit Sri Lanka shortly. He extended the invitation when he met her yesterday in New Delhi and held talks.
During her visit to Sri Lanka, she is expected to discuss the issue of fishermen and urged that while a solution needs to be worked in the long run, an interim approach must be found on the basis that it is a humanitarian problem for it affects the livelihood of the fishermen in both countries. She will also discuss the issue of the repatriation of Lankan refugees in India, it is reported.
