The demand by NPC members: Get out from the TPC, and the firm refusal from the CM
The NPC CM, C.V.Wigneswaran has firmly refused a demand by certain NPC members, to get out from the Co- Leadership of TPC immediately.
A special meeting of the NPC’s TNA Members to find a conclusion to the crisis following the acceptance of the Co-Leadership of the TPC, was held yesterday in Jaffna.
The NPC Members Arnold, Paramsothy, Asmin, Sugirthan and Sayanthan continued to insist that Vigneswaran should get out from the joint Leadership
Speaking there Arnold said, “ We brought you to the CM post. You became CM because of us. Others should not be allowed to misuse it for their own political interest.
“We will take forward many things under your Leadership. The News item published in the ‘Thinakural ‘ to the effect that, we are to bring a no confidence motion against you is false. But you must get out from the leadership of TPC. You must remain with us” , he said, while another Member Paramsothy also called upon the Minister to get out from the TPC Leadership.
Answering their demands, the CM said, “ Our Leadership is taking decisions without consulting us. We should express our concerns. The Northern and Eastern Provinces could put forward their Solution Proposals. This will demonstrate the concerns of the Tamils to the Government.
As the demands of all of us are in accordance with the 2013 Election Manifesto, we could show that we all are talking on the basis of that Manifesto. At the same time, I have no necessity to get out from the TPC”, said the CM, firmly.
Paramsothy intervened at this time and said, “You must get out from the TPC”, to which the CM replied, “ I have no need to get out from the TPC”.
