A Presidential task Force, to consider the release of 274 Political Prisoners

A presidential task force will consider about releasing 274 Tamil political prisoners, said the Media spokesman for the Cabinet, Rajitha Senaratne.

A proposal by the President for constituting a Presidential Task Force with 7 members to expedite the Reconciliation activities was approved by the cabinet he said.  This was announced by him in the Media conference for announcing Cabinet decisions, held yesterday.
