The Jaffna District secretariat has pointed out that, Vali North lands should be fully released, releasing only the lands of people in welfare centres will create more problems, at a meeting held at the president Secretariat yesterday

A meeting regarding resettlement was held yesterday. the president had earlier ordered to identify the lands of people in Welfare centres. This meeting was presided by President’s Secretary Abeykoon. Security forces were not called for this meeting. Only officials of Ministry of resettlement and the Jaffna Secretariat were called for the meeting.

District Secretariat officials pointed out that when attempts are made to identify lands of people in Welfare Centres people who are staying out of welfare centres are falling into dispute with them. People are instigated by the announcement that the Army is blocking the release of their lands. Hence it should be arranged to release all lands of the people together, they had said
