Anitha of Mahajana breaks National record Pole vaulting to 3.35 meters
J.Anitha of Mahajana College competing in the under 20 age group Pole-vault event, jumped to height of 3.35 meter winning a Gold medal breaking the existing record of 3.34 Meters established by Harshini of Kandy Ratnayake MV. The National School Athletic championships are being held by the National School Track and Field Sports Federation at the Diyagama Mahindha Rajapakse Stadium.
S.Dilany of the same school won the Bronze, jumping to a height of 2.95 Meters. S.Harisna of Mahajana College, won the Silver in the under b18 group polevaulting to a height of 2.65 Meters.
Another Bronze was won by S.Pragasraj of Hartley College, participating in the under 18 group, throwing the Discuss to a distance of 41.83 Meters.
Felicitation to winning teams by St. Patrick’s, Jaffna.
The Gold winning Under 15 Foot ball team and the Bronze winning under 17 teams of the St.Patrick’s College were felicitated by the school community presided by the REctor, Rev.Fr.Jero Selvanayagam, yesterday.
