Shed conflict- politics and take up compromise politics: NPC Chief Minister
We have engaged in conflict politics so far. May the Almighty open up avenues for compromise- politics, said Northern Chief Minister C.Vickneswara, while addressing the Coordinating Committee meeting held at the Jaffna Library, yesterday.
The visit of the Minister, I expect, must be providing us a space for a new official life for us.
When I say about a compromising politics, I am not referring to the compromising politics done by some people earlier. I refer to a compromising politics where we could On the basis of ‘two groups of people with equal status’ we should be able to present whole heartedly the rights we have, and have a dialogue with the Government, on humanitarian basis, and win our rights.
The Northern Province, unlike other provinces, had been confronted by a terrible war. I have already talked about official vacancies, problems, blockades, delays and inadequate finances. Both sides should have compromising mentality.
This government came to power by the support of the Tamil people. Therefore it is our government. Hence there should not be any barriers, for us to ask from the president and for him to us what we are asking for, he said.
