General Daya Ratnayake to be quizzed by FCID on scrap iron sale from KKS Cement Factory

Investigation is to be made on former Army Spokesman Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake by the FCID, regarding sale of large machinery from KKS Cement Factory as scrap material. He has been summoned to the FCID today at 10a.m.

The KKS Cement Factory was in a state of abandonment from the year 1990. In the context the war coming to an end and the A9 high way being opened, the massive machineries, equipment  and plants were dismantled and taken away for sale as scrap metal.

High level Defence and Army officers are being accused of  defrauding millions of Rupees through the sale of these machinery, equipment and plants as scrap material. Lieutnant General Daya Ratnayake had been summoned to the FCID today for this inquiry.

The Commission appointed by the state leader had decided to summon former Defence Secretary, and former Colonel, Gotabhaya Rajapakse and several other high level Army Officers for the inquiry, it is reliably learned.
