Modi refers to Bharathyar in his Address to Parliament

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made reference to Tamil poet Subramaniya Bharathyar in his address to the Sri Lankan Parliament. He quoted a line from Bharathyar in Tamil. He said: ‘ Sinhala Theewukku Oor Palam Ammaipoom’.
During his address, he also made reference to Tamil epic Silapathykaram, the arrival of Kannaki worship to Sri Lanka, its transformation as Pathini worship and the influence of Ramayana.
