“Aavaa” Group claims responsibility for attack on Student accused of Ragging

The Aavaa group has claimed responsibility through their Facebook account, to the attack on the house of the student who has been declared out of bounds of Jaffna University on ragging charges. Four persons who had entered the house of the student located near Aanaicoddai Mootha Vinayagar Temple had called for the student.

Failing to find the student at home, the grouped had smashed up the car parked in front of the house and the windows of the house.

The update said that the University is the identity of the Tamils and that they will take action against all activities bringing disrepute to the University.

In that way an attack was undertaken on the house of the student accused of derogatory ragging on women students.  Such punishment will continue against persons who cause distress to students in the guise of Ragging.

The Manipay Police is undertaking further inquiries on the incident.
