In the year 2008, 11 Tamil youths were abducted by Sri Lanka Security Forces in Colombo and subsequently made them to disappear. Now, the Association of their families had handed over memorandum that the perpetrators of the abduction and making to disappear should be punished.
They have gone to Canadian Embassy, UN Secretariat, American Embassy, European Union Secretariat and British Embassy and handed over their memorandum to representatives of International countries.
Later they demonstrated in front of the residence of Mahindha Rajapakse condemning the abductions.
When they went next to the Swizz embassy, they were treated to a Tea party by the Embassy Officials who later found out from them their problems.
It is notable that, during the investigations carried out by the present government regarding this incident which occurred during the term of previous government, six members of the Security Forces including the former spokesman of the Navy were arrested and then released on bail after around six months of inquiry by the CID.
