The Tamil people here and the Diaspora Tamil people should organize their political and diplomatic activities so as to bring into implementation the insistence that, in a context where the Government of Sri Lanka has failed to implement the resolution of the UNHRC, the matter should be taken to International Criminal Court and the UNHRC should appoint a special representative to overview Sri Lankan affairs, said the Secretary General of Thamizh Makkal Koottanii and former CM, Justice C.V.Wigneswaran.
The former CM participated in the Opening ceremony of the first branch office of the Thamizh Makkal Koottanii in Kilinochchi and said as above.
Elaborating further, he said that, in a context where the SL government was undertaking hoodwinking activities without implementing the UNHRC Resolutions, your continuous struggles and political activities have caused the inclusion of some advantageous matters being included in the recommendations of the UNHRC.
The UNHRC has recommended in its report to the member states to take action to investigate war crimes and other crimes and file cases on them as reliable internal investigation had not been held in Sri Lanka.
This matter had been also insisted by the Commission of International Judges.
Several Tamil parties had jointly insisted that a special representative of UNHRC should be appointed.
Hence, the Tamil people here and the Diaspora Tamil people should organize their political and diplomatic activities so as to bring into implementation these insistence, he said.
