Mekaha Yathure Sri Vimala Thero, the Vihara-adi-pati of Jaffna Naga Vihare has said that the Buddhism came from Hinduism and those who act against Hindus are not real Bhjkkus.
He has said this while participating in the media conference held at the Jaffna Media Club on Friday, yesterday.
Elaborating further he said that there is no Leadership for Hinduism and Buddhism. Dharma is the leader of both Religions. There is no division between these religions. Buddhism came from Hinduism. Hindu deities are guardian deities of Buddhist Religion. You can see Hindu deities in any Buddhist vihare.
In this context disputes are being forced in between the two religions. Some Buddhist monks are behind this. The activities of few Bhikkus Cannot be the stance of Buddhism. The acts of these monks make us think whether they are properly groomed Bhikkus.
Jaffna Naga Vihare play the role of linking bridge to North and South. Thus, we shall take the responsibility of creating re-conciliation between Hindus and Buddhist. No problem will be caused in Jaffna District to Hindu Religion, by the name of Buddhist Religion. I will oppose any such attempts. Buddhist should protect Hindu Religion and Hindus should protect Buddhist Religion, he said.
