The decision taken by the President, Maithripala Sirisena will affect Sri Lanka in the next Geneva sitting, the Executive Director of the Centre for Research of Alternate Policies, Dr. Pakkiyasothy Saravanamuthu has warned.
He issued this warning in a Media Conference against the new Government, held yesterday in Colombo. He pointed out that the changing of the Prime Minister and the adjournment of the Parliament are in contravention of the Constitution, illegal and Anti- Democratic.
Because of this the faith people have on the Economy and the country has declined. The Parliament should be summoned soon and solution found for this, he said.
Further, Sri Lanka will be stamped as a country with unstable political situation and the economy will slump into the Hades, he pointed out.
Not only that but also the current status of Sri Lanka at the UN will be more affected during Geneva Sessions to be held in 5 months, said Pakiyasothy Saravanamuthu.
