Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Arjuna Ranathunga has said in Jaffna that Air services to India and other regional countries are expected to commence in this September with 80 -100 seated air crafts.
He revealed this while speaking after inaugurating the development work at the Palaly Air Port.
Speaking further he said that, this project received much priority in the Ministry of Northern Development. Right from the start of this Government this project had in discussion. Prime Minister had taken this project under him for the last six months and he undertook negotiations with the Indian Authorities. Discussions were held over it every week and the Prime Minister had ordered that this project be completed before end of next month.
