Appeal court dismisses the Former CM’s Appeal

The appeal court had rejected the appeal application filed by the former CM, C.V.Wigneswaran, against the contempt of court case filed relevant to the corruption charges against the Northern Provincial Council Ministers.

When this case was taken up for trial yesterday Justices Kumuthiny Wickremasinghe and Janak De Silva announced this yesterday and as per the order, the case against Wigneswaran will be taken up tomorrow.

Earlier the court had ordered  reappointment of Deneeswaran and following the CM not carrying out the order of the Court, a contempt of Court case was filed against the CM by Deneeswaran.
