C.V.K.Sivagnanam, the former Leader of the House of the NPC and a Vice President of ITAK had said that it will be better to appoint a Tamil person as the new Governor of the North and the President should take this into his consideration.
Further it is most inappropriate to appoint a person who has identified himself as a racist as the Governor in the Eastern Province, where all three races are domiciled. This will not lead to unity. This act will be looked up as an act which will fan the racist fire.
Hisbulla had in the past said that if North and East are merged bloody rivers will flow. CVK said as above when he was asked to comment on Hisbullah’s appointment.
However, he has said that appointing a Tamil speaking person as the Governor of the Eastern Province is good and similarly a Tamil speaking person should be appointed to the North.
The person appointed to the North should be conversant with the Northern administration and should work in cooperation with Tamil People and the TNA, he further said.
